As you might imagine, being a very modern city that embodies and embraces innovation in everything we do, MK is a technology hotspot that attracts everyone from geeks and techies to life scientists and aerospace engineers.
New technologies have spurred the growth of our businesses, such as leading mobile technology firm AirWatch and animal medicine company MSD, part of Merck.
Other major tech companies that have seen the benefit of a Milton Keynes base include Tech Mahindra, ICT InfoTech, IQ Software Services, T-Systems, Siemens and Dimension Data.
The Milton Keynes tech community is supported by local networks such as the Biztech Technology Forum, a peer to peer group of IT leaders and professionals in the city with an active membership and event programme.
In 2012, Milton Keynes was the chosen site for Electromagnetic Field (MK), which has been described as the UK's biggest ever 'Geek Camp'. Some 500 innovators, designers and techies came to the city for a weekend of workshops and idea-sharing. EMF returns to MK in 2014.
